NAVI MUMBAI: A 65-year-old cancer patient from Thal village, Alibag taluka, who was officially declared dead by the cancer hospital in Kharghar, was found to be breathing when he was being transported back to Thal in an ambulance. He died on Saturday at 10am, at the RCF Hopsital in Thal.
The man had been brought in for treatment at the Tata ACTREC on Friday, where he was declared dead on arrival.
When contacted by TOI, the victim’s son, Aniruddh Mhatre, and grandson, Yogesh Mhatre, refused to comment.
ACTREC’s deputy director Navin Khattry, and Tata Memorial Hospital public relations officer S H Jafri did not reply to TOI’s text messages on this subject either.
