Coronavirus in Navi Mumbai: 18 new cases under NMMC, patient delivers | Navi Mumbai News

NAVI MUMBAI: Eighteen persons tested positive for Covid-19 under NMMC, while there were seven under PCMC and one from Panvel taluka rural region. A 37-year-old pregnant woman from Airoli was among them. NMMC doctors performed a Caesarean operation at Vashi. “The newborn was separated from the mother to avoid the risk of infection,” said a civic official.
A 43-year-old Juinagar resident, who is a nurse at Bhabha hospital (Kurla), and a 40-year-old Sion hospital staffer from Airoli also tested positive Three APMC workers from the grains market tested positive too. With this, there are now 206 cases under NMMC.
Under PCMC are two constables, an X-ray technician and BMC cleaning staff. One is a 33-year-old constable from Kalamboli, while the other is 38 years old and resides at Kharghar. Two residents of Kamothe, a 53-year-old and 35-year-old, employed as cleaning staff with BMC, also tested positive.
