NAVI MUMBAI: There were a record 105 Covid-19 cases in a day under NMMC on Monday, taking the total to 779. Four deaths were also reported, taking the toll to 18. Under PCMC, 24 tested positive, while 15 from Panvel taluka rural region tested positive, a record 26 from Karanja village in Uran taluka tested positive.
The cases under PCMC is 180, while in Panvel taluka rural region, it is 63 and in Uran taluka, it is 55. Officials said some lied about their symptoms, which led to the spread of Covid-19 among the fishing community in Karanja. Those who tested positive were a BMC clerk, two cops from Nagpada and Shivaji Nagar stations and a BEST conductor from Kharghar. In Panvel, a BEST staffer, BMC staffer, a banker and a KEM hospital staffer tested positive.
