Deceased patient’s kin create ruckus at NMMC hospital in Vashi | Navi Mumbai News

NAVI MUMBAI: The kin of a 48-year-old patient, who died during treatment after being admitted in a critical condition at NMMC hospital in Vashi, created a ruckus and damaged medical equipments on Wednesday early morning.
NMMC hospital medical superintendent Dr Prashant Jawade said, “Patient Venkatesh Suryavanshi, a Juhugaon resident, was shifted from Ashirwad hospital in Koparkhairane to NMMC hospital in Vashi on Tuesday afternoon. He had tuberculosis and also had HIV infection. His condition was critical when admitted to NMMC hospital. After the patient succumbed at around 3am on Wednesday, his kin turned violent and vented their anger by indulging in vandalism at the hospital premises where other patients were admitted. They threw the files of patients on the floor and damaged ventilator and dialysis machines. After the Vashi police was summoned, two cops arrived and detained the accused men.”
